In Marlborough there is a wide range of activities available suitable for all age groups and levels of fitness. From walking the easy slopes of the Wither Hills to serious mountain climbing.

From a casual days shopping to exploring Blenheim's internationally recognised Brayshaw Historic Park, or for the more decadent tastes a day or two of wining and dining in Marlborough's famous wine district.

A sample of some of the activities available are shown below. Enjoy!

Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre
Located at Marlborough's historically significant Omaka Aerodrome, the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre was established to provide a world-class destination for the appreciation of historic aircraft.

For the opening exhibition in Stage One of Omaka, New Zealand's most respected cinematic and special effects craftsmen have created a dramatic aviation theatre in which original and full-scale replica WW1 aircraft - both static and flyable - are presented in all their glory.

Golf
Marlborough has two 18 hole championship length golf courses as well as 4 other 9 hole courses. All are within a range of 2kms to 40kms from the centre of Blenheim and green fees range from $15 to $25 (NZ) with club and trundler hire generally available. All arrangements and "golfing tours" can be arranged as an all inclusive package.

Whalewatch / Dolphins
Situated a comfortable 2hr drive from Blenheim- Kaikoura's whalewatching and other water based activities make a good day trip. Bookings can be made by your host.

Scenic Flights
Scenic flights are available from both the Marlborough Aero Club and Sounds Air which are 4kms and 20kms respectively from the Brydan on Rose. They both provide a wide range of scenic flight options, most of which can be arranged at relatively short notice. Your hosts can make arrangements if required.

Walking / Hiking
Enjoy a wide range of walks from gentle to energetic within a very short distance from "the Brydan". From the Wither Hills walkways (giving panoramic views of Blenheim and the Wairau Valley - to walking in the native bush at Pelorus Bridge - or striding along the Queen Charlotte track - either or, guests can enjoy the peace and tranquillity that Marlborough is renowned for.

Wine & Wine Tours
No visit to Marlborough would be complete without visiting some (or all!) of our renowned wineries. A wide range of options are available from small personalised tours up to the large 40 seater bus tour. Other options are tours by limousine and detailed "wine experience" tours which start at the wine and finish at the bottle. For those of you who are truly energetic you can also do a wine trail by bicycle. All tours can be arranged by your hosts.

Makana Confections
We proudly produce some of New Zealand's finest confections at our boutique chocolate factories in Blenheim, Marlborough and in Kerikeri.
Our hand-made chocolates and other natural temptations are perfect for special occasions, or a wonderfully special self-indulgent treat. Gift giving is so easy with Makanaź Confections. Fishing
A good range of fishing activities are close at hand. The accompanying picture shows the sort of results that can be achieved within 1 hour of leaving the Brydan on Rose (yes it is a real fish - all 28kgs of it). As well as fishing in the Marlborough Sounds there is also excellent fly fishing including the internationally acclaimed "Spring Creek" which is rated in the top 10 fly fishing stretches in the world (Yes! the world). All fishing trips can be arranged and given sufficient time- guides can also be provided.

Marlborough Sounds Cruising
Superb experiences await guests on an array of Marlborough Sounds cruises. Ranging from the famous "mail boat" which visits a myriad of bays and homes in the sounds, through to a full dining cruise, visiting sounds highlights on the way. One of the favourites is the "seafood and Sauvignon" featuring lazy cruising whilst enjoying Marlborough's green lip mussels and sampling some of our world renowned Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs. All of these activities are provided by professional operators and your hosts are happy to organise them for you.
